  • Sad news

      It is with great sadness that Inflamex members learnt yesterday night the passing of their dear colleague and friend Prof Gilles Chiocchia. Gilles played an essential part in the inception of Inflamex and he served as co-coordinator of our consortium from 2012 to 2015. Thank to his enthousiasm, his dynamism and his scientific excellence, Gilles created the Chronic Infection and  Inflammation lab  (2ic) at the Simone Veil Institute (University of Versailles Saint- Quentin en Yvelines). Our thoughts go to his family, his friends and his colleague who already miss him deeply.

    Tomas Etrych is director of the "Biomedicinal polymers" department of the Institute of Macromolecular Chemistry of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic in Pragu. Tomas will notably discuss his work on long-life modified corticoïds that he testes on models of arthritis. More generaly, Tomas' laboratory studies modifications of therapeutic molecules to improve their tartegting in tissues that are involved in cancer and inflammation. The expertise of Tomas could help Inflamex pharmacological studies, and Tomas will be open to discussion with the aim of developing future collaborations.   ALL WELCOME!

  • 14th International Symposium on IgA Nephropathy, organized bu Prof R. Monteiro (Inflamex Part 1). September 15th to 17th 2016

    IgA nephropathy is the most common glomerulonephritis throughout the world. This disease is characterized by deposition of the IgA in the glomerulus. There are other diseases associated with glomerular IgA deposits, the most common being Henoch-Schönlein purpura.     Congratulations to AMAYA MURUA and to YASMINE LAMRI with successfully applied for a prestitgious PhD fellowship from the French Ministry of Research (MRT). They will pursue their research in Inflamex team 1 (Prof. Renato Monteiro) and 2 (Dr Ulrich Blank, under the supervision of Dr Nicolas Charles), respectively.   Congratulations also to ISABELLE NEL who will conduct her work in the laboratory of Dr Agnès Lehuen (partner 7), and to SIMONA ZAFFORA who will do her research in the laboratory of Dr Nadine Varin-Blank (partner 10).     Inflamex organized its Summer School on July 6th and 7th at the Château de Maffliers. Eighty-five researchers, lecturers, clinicians and students gathered to discuss and exchange their research in a relaxed atmosphere. The Scientific Advisory Board of Inflamex also assisted the summer school to assess Inflamex achievements and raised new lines of improvement.
