Research areas :

The team’s project is centered on the study of the biology of MC and Ba and their role in inflammatory diseases with a specific but not unique focus on kidney diseases. In particular, we examine the cellular and tissue factors as well as the signaling processes engaged by these cells in the promotion of inflammatory diseases, using a variety of new animal models as well as interdisciplinary approaches with local clinical departments.

AXE 1
Our first research axis investigates the role of MC and Ba in renal disease and tissue remodeling by determining their impact on tissue resident cell function and by analyzing their cross-talk with other inflammatory cells.

AXE 2
The second research axis investigates the role of Ba and autoreactive IgE in the development of lupus nephritis by analyzing their activation properties in patients and in various animal models for lupus including newly developed Ba-CRE mice.

AXE 3
In the third research axis we study the role of MC and Ba in several inflammatory pathologies using new transgenic mice for direct visualization of these cells (RMB mice) or released factors in tissues.
