INFLAMMATION AND INFLAMMATORY DISEASES
Teaching Unit in Master 1 – INFLAMEX LABEX

BEARER ESTABLISHMENT :
- University of Paris

LIVING TOGETHER :
- University Sorbonne Paris Nord

MENTION : Molecular and Cellular Biology
SPECIALTY : Inflammation and Inflammatory Diseases (IID)

Presentation

The IMI Master Programme aims at teaching young researchers at the beginning of their career using the power of an interdisciplinary approach between fundamental research and different applied/clinical disciplines in the field of inflammation. IMI is organized by the Laboratory of Excellence Inflamex, which comprises actually 16 research teams affiliated to the University of Paris and the University Sorbonne Paris Nord

Competencies expected at the end of training

At the end of the EU « inflammation and inflammatory diseases », students will have a thorough knowledge of molecular, cellular and physiological basis of the normal and pathologic inflammatory reaction. This knowledge will be important for following up in master 2 “Inflammation and Inflammatory Diseases”, organized by Inflamex. It will also be  a very good asset for a participation in a master 2 specialized in immunology, physiology, cell biology, biotechnology or Drug design.

Content and teaching staff

Lectures of the EU « inflammation » are given by researchers and clinicians from Inflamex partner laboratories, as well as by other experts in the field of inflammation.

In 2015-2016, lectures were given by:

  • Prof Luc Mouthon (U. Paris Descartes, Inserm U1016)
  • Dr Cecilia Chassin (U. Paris Diderot, Centre de recherche sur l’Inflammation, Inserm U 1149)
  • Dr Ulrich Blank (U. Paris Diderot, Centre de recherche sur l’Inflammation,  Inserm U 1149)
  • Prof Renato Monteiro (U. Paris Diderot, Centre de recherche sur l’Inflammation,  Inserm U 1149)
  • Dr Nicolas Charles (U. Paris Diderot, Centre de recherche sur l’Inflammation, Inserm U 1149)
  • Dr Jean Davoust (Inserm U1151)
  • Dr Véronique Witko-Sarsat (U. Paris Descartes, Inserm U1016)
  • Dr Asma Beldi-Ferchiou (U. Paris Est-Créteil, Inserm U955)
  • Dr Frederik Barreau (U. Toulouse, Inserm U1043)
  • Dr Agnès Lehuen (U. Paris Descartes, Inserm U1016)
  • Dr Henri-Jean Garchon (U. Versailles-Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, Inserm U1173)
  • Prof Richard Moreau (U. Paris Diderot, Centre de recherche sur l’Inflammation, Inserm U 1149)

Teaching is divided into 3 parts :

  • General principles of inflammation and biomathematics (16h)
  • Immuno-pathology (4h)
  • Presentation of few inflammatory diseases. “Omics” approach to inflammation (6h)
